ABOUT

Norkor Nortey (b. 1997) is a Ghanaian documentary photographer curious about the multifaceted lives of African women and how they navigate, take up space and thrive in today's world.

In her practice, women are the protagonists, laying claim of their personal histories and visual culture.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Design from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 2019.

She graduated from the Dikan Center - Africa’s first and largest photography library -  in 2023 as a member of the inaugural cohort of the Photojournalism & Documentary Practice Program and was the recipient of the Outstanding Student Award.

Her work has been featured by Format, New Comma & Women Photograph respectively.

She is a member of Women Photograph & Black Women Photographers.
